Balla Welcomes Local Sports Figures to Official Launch - 17 Nov.2011

 On Wednesday 16th November, during a glittering evening at Jackson Hall in Nicosia, Balla.com.cy hosted a number of guests from football and other fields in order to present its mission: launching a new era of sports reporting in Cyprus. Many important Cyprus sports figures were in attendance, including team chairmen, board members, coaches, players, and spokespersons, as well as representatives of other sports organisations on the island.

Balla.com.cy was honoured to welcome team chairmen Miltiades Neophytou (Omonia), Savvas Kakos (Anorthosis), Pavlos Aristodimou (Apollon Football) and Michalis Andreou (Ermis). Also present were coaches Pambos Christodoulou (AEL), Ronny Levy (Anorthosis), Nicos Andronikou (Ermis), and Radmilo Ivancevic (Alki), as well as Cyprus international Sinisa Dobrasinovic (Alki) and Andreas Papathanasiou (Ermis).

Several vice presidents attended Balla’s official presentation, including Costas Stratis (ENP) and Michalis Ppekris and Giorgos Koshis (Anorthosis), as well as other board members, including Andreas Mouzourides (AEL), Theodoros Theodorou (Alki), Andreas Pavlou and Andreas Kile (Anagennisis), Michalis Hadjipantelas (Anorthosis), and Andreas Leonidou and Costas Christou (Omonia). Also in attendance were a number of team spokespersons: Panicos Hadjiliasis (APOEL), Christos Andronicou (Omonia), Nektarios Marketos (AEK), Ploutis Avraam (AEL), and Maria Charalambous (Olympiacos Press Office). The Cyprus Football Association was represented by 2nd Deputy President Andreas Santis. Panayiotis Felloukas, president of the Cyprus Union of Sports Journalists, was also present, as was well-known lawyer Giorgos Christofides.

In presenting Balla, director Costas Daltas made extensive reference to the new age of sports journalism that the website aims to bring about in Cyprus. Balla includes onymous journalism, uncensored opinions, backstories, features, live reporting from every major sports event, interviews, and multimedia content (exclusive videos and other audiovisual materials).
